The arrival of our company's latest measuring instrument was preceded by eager anticipation. Finally, at the end of March, during a personal visit to the company IRIS Instruments in France, we had the opportunity to take delivery of one of their flagship devices, the SYSCAL TERRA SWITCH 96. The SYSCAL TERRA is the new generation of resistivity & IP surveying system capable of examining the electrical parameters of geological layers, thus clearly distinguishing between different geological mediums and, in some cases, the fluids filling them. The method has a wide range of applications (water exploration, environmental protection, mineral exploration, mining industry, engineering industry, etc.). What sets the TERRA apart, on one hand, is the manufacturer's decades of experience, and on the other hand, the use of the most advanced technological solutions.
The trial didn’t take long to arrange, as just a few days after the instrument’s arrival, we performed measurements in a river sediment environment. The results clearly indicate a gravel layer that most likely provides the highest quality water in the greatest quantity. Seeing the capabilities of the TERRA, even our experienced team was impressed by the huge potential in the instrument. After this, we are confident that we will soon be able to share exciting details about our new ERT&IP projects.
